1. 旋盤（数値制御式のものを含む。）を使用し、材料の形状や材質に応じて、加工方法や切削条件（切削速度、切込み、送り）等の各種調整を行った後、加工物を回転させ、刃物台に取り付けられた刃物（バイトと呼ばれる工具）に送りを与え、目的に応じた切削加工を行う作業
2. フライス盤（数値制御式のものを含む。）を使用し、材料の形状や材質に応じて、加工方法や切削条件（切削速度、切込み、送り）等の各種調整を行った後、工具（回転刃）を回転させ、万力に取り付けられた加工物に送りを与え、目的に応じた切削加工を行う作業
